Find out which foods may be wreaking havoc on your system and what to do about it.
Food Sensitivity Testing
Starting at $79
Different than an actual food allergy, food sensitivities or intolerances are harder to pinpoint. Have you ever had a reaction like a headache, fatigue, GI issues or discomfort, skin rashes or breakouts and tried to figure out which food could be the cause? Maybe you have a gut feeling that a food or several foods you are eating don’t bode well with you, but you can’t pinpoint which one it is. Follow your instincts. Most times, foods are very often the underlying cause for much of what is ailing us. Think about it. What other substance do you put into your body 3-4 times every day?
Over time, especially if we have eaten processed foods, alcohol, caffeine, sugar, and other non-nutritious foods, our body’s can begin to react. Food intolerances can occur when antibodies are forming, often due to a leaky gut or because you are deriving an inflammatory response from what you are eating.
Though there are several blood tests on the market you can take to check for many food intolerances, I prefer to use manual muscle testing (MMT, also called applied kinesiology or AK) to help clients get a sense of troublesome foods that may be impeding their progress toward health or weight loss goals.
Because a food intolerance can change, it is a non-invasive and less expensive method to track changes in your body’s response to certain foods. I find that when people take a blood test, they may find foods that are indicated that they then forever stay away from, instead of getting to the root cause of what may be causing an imbalance and being able to introduce that food back into their diet. With MMT (or AK), you can make dietary changes, work on healing, retest, and in theory, be able to gauge what foods are best for you.
What to Expect
You simply will hold a vial of a food essence in one hand, while having the tester apply pressure to a set muscle group to test the muscle’s strength or weakness. Yup. IT sounds like voo-doo – but don’t judge it until you have tried it. It isn’t a vicarious experience!
Whether choosing a PARTIAL or FULL PANEL of foods to test, I will write down your responses to these foods and then derive a plan to figure out next steps. This practice is NOT a diagnosis of any health condition or disease, but rather a tool to use to help you achieve your goals by further identifying foods that could potentially be impeding your progress
Because of the nature of this testing, I can only do this in-person with local clients!
